ABOUT

Maybe it’s a cop-out to call myself ‘food-obsessed’- people claim to be obsessed with anything and everything these days- but I really mean it. I love understanding what goes into a dish, when, and why. Just as much, I love making food look beautiful: the colours, the arrangement, the accompaniments. They deserve as much attention as the flavour.
In a world full of promotions and paychecks, honesty matters. No one’s paying me to say nice things, so I take pride in being a straight-up critic, (and a straight-up cynic). Over the last few years, I’ve eaten my way around restaurants, bars, and cafés, sometimes on assignment, sometimes following recommendations, and I’ve worked behind the scenes too. Alongside that, I’ve written reviews, styled shoots, and built a portfolio that blends visual storytelling with words.
I enjoy debunking the classic: “You absolutely have to come here when you visit [insert city]”, because nine times out of ten, you absolutely don’t.
Years of cooking, exploring, and experimenting have given me confidence, but not arrogance- I’m not pretending to match those who’ve spent decades in the industry. What I do bring however, is curiosity.
Living and travelling through East and Southeast Asia taught me the versatility of ingredients and techniques, and how to translate tradition into the contemporary. I’ve loved folding those lessons into Western cooking (spoiler: it’s more than okay to mix the two). If it tastes good, that’s the point. That’s the idea I’m here to push.
This space is where I share it all: food styling, candid reviews, culinary experiments, wins and failures alike. As cliché as it sounds, trial and error really does work.
Take a look at my portfolio for previous and current projects, and if you’re an appreciator of food, travel, and possibly controversial opinions, my journal is steadily filling up.
